#StopDeportationToAfghanistan - Clemens Potocnik

Clemens Potocnik is a medical doctor/cardiologist, he and his family support my work, a young man from Afghanistan has been staying with them temporarily. And he is my cousin, which I am very happy about. "Sending ......... well-integrated young men back to a war-torn country is simply irrational and ideologically twisted". Thank you very much, dear Clemens, for supporting the campaign and for what you are doing.

#ChangingTheNarrative

Why doesn't the federal government talk about the many Afghans who have been living among us for years. They love our country, work, have made close friends with Austrians and are grateful that they can live a life of security and peace here. They appreciate this very much and also feel connected to us because of it. Because Afghanistan is a high-risk area, the most dangerous country in the world, and hardly anyone on the ground has not been affected by the attacks, the radical groups, the corruption, the pain to which this country and its inhabitants are exposed.

Why doesn't the federal government report on all the young people who have wonderfully established themselves here and woven themselves into the fabric since 2015? Apprentices, students, pupils, seasonal workers. Why doesn't the federal government talk about how many young Afghans are doing voluntary work in various social projects in our country?

Why not talk about all those, many, who are a wonderful calling card for Afghanistan, known for their peacefulness, their hospitality and make a great contribution here?

This populism, this Afghan bashing must stop. The German government and its helpers are putting so much pressure on young people through the threat of deportation, exposing them to massive fears, so that hopeful young men become demoralised, frightened, mentally ill beings. Afghanistan is a country at war. The threat of deportation borders on psychological torture.

Deportations to a country at war are to be condemned in the strongest terms and are not worthy of a civilised Europe, Austria! We would be happy to pass on to the federal government the many integration efforts and successes of young people on the run. We would be happy to meet with those responsible for an exchange. We will not stand by and watch young Afghans on the run being misused for populist, inhuman, cranky politics and irresponsible suffering being inflicted on them in the name of all of us!
