Everyday work on Lesbos

In Greece, here on #Lesbos#Moria2there is an appalling amount of misery.
Not only directly in the camp, where people are treated below all dignity, but also outside.

Regardless of whether they are granted asylum or rejected, the people live here without any perspective or visionary state support. They are neither integrated into society nor are their concerns and needs taken care of. Children who live for years without education, chronically ill people, single parents.
A drama.

Yesterday we were out in Mytelini and Thermi delivering food parcels to families.

Ali, who also works for OHF as a translator, helps us with communication in Thermi.
The fates of the individual people must not leave us cold.
The way people on the run are treated here defies description.

Thank you that we can support many people here thanks to your support. It is often, as with so many, a drop in the ocean, but much better than nothing.
For the people here, it is not only about support with:
Food
Baby parcels
Hygiene articles for women
Clothing
Legal advice, but they are also happy when we meet them for a talk, when we can give them the feeling that "there are people in Europe who care about you"
Thanks to all of us, we can be here, do our work and also tell people about the supporters and many activities in Austria and Europe.

Many thanks for this ♥️
