#StopDeportationToAfghanistan - A., affected person

"I can't even think about Afghanistan, I get extremely scared. It's incredibly dangerous there, there's war." A., affected person, fled war and terror from Afghanistan, has been living in Austria for over 4 years.

A. still has to fear that the Austrian government might deport him to Afghanistan, a country at war. He has learned our language, made friends here, is doing voluntary service. He would like to work, but he is not allowed to. Four years of waiting. When we met him to take this photo, we felt how deeply affected he is by Austria's attitude.

Julius Zeitlmann from Graz is the photographer who has taken on this sensitive work on a voluntary basis. I am very touched by how prudently and sensitively he approaches this task. I also felt how much he does not understand the decisions to deport people to Afghanistan. How affected he is by this. We all wish that there were many more contacts with fellow Afghans. Because the personal encounter paints a completely different picture, which is deliberately spread politically and by the media. You get the opportunity to hear first-hand the personal stories of death, corruption, fundamentalism, the cruel NATO missions and much more. And you build up a closeness to people who are deliberately kept so "foreign" by politics.

Celebrities, public figures, civil society, politicians, many people have contacted us to support this campaign. We sincerely thank them for this, because Afghanistan is a country at war! Deportations there are neither legally nor humanly justifiable! We ask everyone who hears about this to raise their voice against this injustice, thank you!
