A day of joy

#Lesbos#Moria2

Sometimes also here:
Let's talk about the things that bring joy ♥️

Tomorrow we leave the island again for Chios and are very much looking forward to seeing the volunteers from Ruhi again, Leyla, Laura, Mohammad Reza, Mustafa and Wali.

We have experienced very intense and, despite all the drama, many joyful moments here.

Such were the hours today and it is simply good for the heart to be so happy when we say goodbye.

The world will only change through love, or whatever we call it in our vocabulary.
I have been so blessed here by encounters with shelter seekers who never fail to impress me with their courtesy, enormous commitment and gentleness. To maintain all this under these months and years of cruel living conditions is a feat of social and emotional intelligence and humanity that is unparalleled.

Sharif Ahmadi informed me that the people in the camp had shared things, collected things, because several families with asylum status no longer get any money, so they cannot buy food. They and their children suffer from hunger.
It has to be said that those who are still in the process in the camp also receive only 75€ p.m.. Food bags were packed by many people in the camp. You share with your sisters and brothers, even if you are not well.
We were so touched and thrilled, yes, this is the human dignity and humanity we are looking for and the peaceful community needs ♥️

Thank you to the reliable, big-hearted young people Sharif, Mohammad Ali, Habib, Omid, Khaledin, Esmatullah, Ali, Mohammad Reza and Zahra and to everyone in the camp who helped to get the parcels to the Lidl car park where we could start our tour of Mytelini.
It is worth fighting for this world that you, together with many others, fill with love in everyday life. Taschakor! Thx a lot!
