The end of a section is never the end of life!

Dear friends, dear supporters!

It has now been 1 year since A. Jan was deported to Afghanistan. It was the hardest time of his life. It was also a very intense and stressful time for us who accompanied him. Since the case has now been closed in Austria by the BvwG, we will give you a short summary so that you know how the story ended and where A. Jan stands now.

Procedure:

The BvwG has accepted the complaint from the lawyer we trust, Dr Schmaus/Vienna. As usual, Dr. Schmaus wrote a very detailed and accurate appeal. It was served on the BvwG/Vienna on 31.8.2018. Waiting for an answer was a great challenge for A., which often brought him to his limits. Then, 1 week ago, the decision came. The appeal was rejected. After consultation with Dr. Schmaus, we waived an extraordinary appeal.

A. Jan and his life

Since April in Afghanistan, always hidden, deepest despair, medical support, also for us helpers a situation that is only possible with accompaniment/supervision.

In the late autumn of that year, there was still no end in sight to the story, so we decided to take A. out of Afghanistan. It was no longer possible for us to accompany A. in a way that we could justify both psychologically and physically.

After intensive research and thanks to A.'s good education, the possibility arose for A. to obtain a student visa for a university in India. Thanks to great supporters, the visa, the flight and also living and studying in India could be organised. In late autumn 2018, A. left the hell of Kabul and landed in India to embark on a new chapter. Despite waiting for a decision from the BvWG and still hoping to return to his new home, A started studying business management in India.

After the initial joy and relief, we were once again made painfully aware of the psychological strain a refugee is exposed to and the consequences of all these experiences, in particular deportation to Afghanistan, for the people.

Because after the joy of being back in a peaceful country, of finally being able to move freely again after months of mortal fear in Afghanistan, the nightmares, the panic attacks and also the anger of not understanding came to light.

But here, too, there was a small, constant group that stood by A with all the necessary means for a "cure". I sincerely thank all these people, because this great challenge would not have been manageable for me alone.

India:

Now A is starting the 2nd semester. The news of the rejection was a great disappointment. But there are two sides to every coin. So finally a decision was made and we are all now looking forward together. We will report to you each semester and also about our next plans. Personally, the current situation of A seems to me to be the beginning of a new phase in which it is possible to go new, good ways and I am very grateful for that.

I thank all the supporters who were there for A and also for me in this difficult time and made the status quo possible. With gratitude and love, Doro

  1. For me Ahmad you are a highly sensitive, wonderful, intelligent person with decency and a huge heart. I am grateful that I was allowed to get to know you and that I can and want to continue to accompany you. You are still a gift for me. Thank you - you too enrich my life. Anita

  2. Dear Reshad, it has been a while now since I was allowed to get to know you through Doro. Although we never met, I always had the feeling that you were no stranger to me, because you let me look deep into your soul, for which I thank you very much! In this way I was able to experience that even a person like you, who was and is exposed to tremendous stresses, always has the strength to get up and move on. All this makes me very optimistic for your life, which has now entered a new phase. I hope I can accompany you for a while longer! Take care, dear Reshad! LG Susanne

  3. Thank you Doro for showing that one must never give up. All the best to Jan. He will find a way. Even to us, if he still wants to. With education and a red-white-red card.

  4. Dear Ahmad! How often I have thought of you. I didn't dare to ask where you were and how you were doing. I am very happy that you can study in India. I also have a godchild from Tibet whom I supported from an early age and who then studied in Bangalore. Now she is in Austria and already on her own feet. I am very proud of you for persevering and I am sure that you will go your way. I wish you all the best for your studies and keep in touch and thank you to all the helpers. With kind regards Maria Veronika

  5. Dear Ahmad,
It is unbelievable what a human being can endure and achieve.
You were very lucky to have Doro and other wonderful people by your side who accompanied and supported you in this dark time - a blessing for you but also for them.
You are strong and intelligent and can hopefully look to the future with confidence.
We, my Ali and I wish you all the happiness in the world.
    With love
Ali and Bärbel plus my whole family.

  6. Dear young friend!
I hope you are well. You know that I too wish you only the very best. You are very strong and you will become even stronger - I firmly believe that. I am happy to have met you and to write with you sometimes. It is nice to know that you are safe and to have hope that one day I might meet you. Who knows, it's not the end of the day yet and the wheel of time keeps turning! With loving thoughts for you, Andrea
