Today we are on our way from Lesvos to Chios, then a few days later to Samos.
After another 8 weeks on Lesvos, during which we were again able to achieve a lot together with "Home For All", we are making a short trip to other Greek islands. There too, those seeking protection are in dire need, falling victim to the ruthless #refugeepolicies of the European Union and the individual member states.
Fayad has planned and prepared the trip perfectly, packed our car with things that we can then already pass on on site.
We have already established contacts, meetings with local national and international NGOs are on the agenda and we very much hope that we can also work well together there to support people in need.
It is also very important to us to show that it is not only on Lesbos that the ugly face of European foreign policy can be felt and seen.
Just like on Lesbos, and sometimes even worse, people live here who have had to leave their homes under the most adverse circumstances and for the saddest reasons, such as war, terror, proxy wars, hunger, exploitation, climate change, etc. without decent accommodation, inadequate medical care, and are often left completely alone with their traumas and psychological distress. Women, men and children.
We are dreaming and working hard to change these inhuman situations, and European civil society is demanding this and increasing the pressure through its actions so that politics has to do what would be right.
Orderly reception of people seeking protection in Europe, humane accommodation, fast and fair asylum procedures, a uniform European asylum system that complies with the law, the action of those politically responsible, of the individual member states in the sense of what we want to be, namely just, human civilisation.
We thank all those who accompany us on this path, support us, the initiatives and associations who fight for the common cause in their own way in Austria and other European countries.

In the coming days, we will share our experiences and reports with you. From Saturday, I will be back on Lesvos, Fayad will stay a little longer to plan projects in detail and will also visit Levros. In the meantime,
Luna, who came to Lesvos again for 2 months after her winter assignment, is doing her usual best for the people seeking protection in #Moria2 together with Home for All. I am very grateful for this, because it makes our departure from the island, where we have been with short interruptions since Sept. 20, much easier.
